Whether your internal team has grown or you’ve just begun working with an external agency, there are a number of reasons to share access to your Meta Business Suite (formerly Facebook Business Manager). And when it comes to collaborating effectively, it’s important that everyone has the right permissions.
So, if you're new to Meta, here’s everything you need to know about sharing access to Meta Business Suite so you can keep things running smoothly.
Select the business account that you want to manage
Click settings (located in the side bar on the left)
Under ‘Users’ choose ‘People’
Step 2: Invite Users
On the right hand side of the screen, click the blue ‘+ Invite People’ button
In the ‘Add People’ tab, type in the email address of the user you want to add
There is an option to give temporary access, but if you’re working with someone on a long-term basis, ignore this and click next
Step 3: Give Access
There are two access options:
Partial access - users are given partial access by default, which allows them to work on business assets that are assigned to them
Full access - users have will have full ownership of the page, including the ability to add new users and delete your portfolio
Step 4: Assign Assets
Click the drop down to view your assets
Confirm which asset(s) (Facebook/Instagram Page or ad account) you want the user to have access to
Decide on the access you want the user to have for that particular asset - there are a number of options to pick and choose from like content, messages, and ads
Step 5: Send An Invitation
Once you’re happy that the user has all the relevant access, hit ‘Send Invitation’. The user will then receive an email with a link prompting them to accept this invitation. Once they have accepted, they will have access to everything you have given them permission for.
How to Add a Partner
You can also add a partner instead of a single user. This is particularly useful if you’re working with an external agency, as it means their team’s access will be tied to their own business account.
Step 1: Head to Business Settings
Log in to your Meta account
Select the business account that you want to manage
Click settings
Under ‘Users’ choose ‘Partners’
Step 2: Add a Partner
Click the blue ‘Add’ button
Select ‘Give a partner access to your assets’
Enter the partner’s Business ID
Step 3: Assign Assets and Permissions
Choose which assets you want to share with your partner
Pick the permissions for each asset
Once you’re happy, click ‘Assign Assets’ and they will receive a notification on their end
